Hello Dancers and Spectators!

Mark your Calendars!

The 7th Orange Blossom Ball Ballroom and Latin Dance Competition

is on Saturday, April 3, 2010.

This year we moved the competition date one week earlier to accommodate the USA Dance National Championship competition in Los Angeles which is the weekend after The Orange Blossom Ball. Our competition will be a good warm up competition for those who will be attending the Nationals.  GOOD LUCK TO ALL AT THE NATIONALS!

Thanks to your continuous support, our attendance keeps increasing every year.

This year we have a fabulous Latin couple performing the Latin showcase. We are proud to present the Professional Open Latin Champions: Roman Kutskyy and Anna Kovalova. They were winners at the 2010 California Open and 2009 Ohio Star Ball Professional Open Latin  Championships. Just like last year, the Latin showcase will be after the Freestyle Open Dances category. Please make a note of that so you don’t miss their spectacular show. Come and enjoy their performance and the camaraderie of the competition!

Nadia Eftedal is also offering an incredible incentive for couples to enter the Open Latin Champion event this year by offering a generous scholarship award to the winning couple that includes free passes to The Holiday Ball and Dance Camp plus a Free lesson with her redeemable at the competition in Woodland Hills, California.

Riverside originally flourished as a growing, packing and distributing center for the Citrus Industry and the scent of orange blossoms still floats on the air from the many orange groves that still exist in the area. Centrally located for most of Southern California, the city is also a rapidly expanding reflection of the diversities to be found in the Inland Empire. The jewel of the Historic Downtown area is the Mission Inn which still offers luxurious and romantic dining and accommodation. Riverside boasts a number of museums including the Museum of Photography which has the largest photographic archive collection in the US and The Riverside Art Museum is housed in an elegant building designed by Helen Morgan, the architect of Hearst Castle. University Village, close to the campus, offers a lively mixture of cafes and a cinema. The latest addition to the Historic Downtown area is the restored Fox Theatre which originally premiered the movie Gone with the Wind.

University of California Riverside already has an eminent scientific, agricultural and horticultural research facility and future plans include a medical school. The student population is of widely diverse cultures offering opportunities to enjoy ethnic dances from around the globe and we plan to share some of these cultural riches with you during our event.

Come and celebrate dance with us. We offer a great facility with an enormous practice floor. Our program offers opportunities for amateur dancers at all levels to participate in couple and team competition and we are proud to be able to offer a fine panel of judges for this event. The Emerald Ball and other competitions in the area are all drawing closer and this is a great opportunity to rehearse your best moves!

Hope to see you on the dance floor!
